The BA (Hons) Teaching and Learning at Lincoln Bishop University is the perfect next step for anyone who has completed our Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning, or holds a similar qualification from another institution. This flexible, work-based programme is designed for those who want to gain a full bachelor’s degree while continuing to work or volunteer in a setting that supports learning, whether that’s in a school, community organisation, support service, or care environment.
Our innovative blended learning approach means you can balance your studies with your professional commitments. You’ll join live online classes twice a week, and attend five in-person teaching days throughout the academic year, giving you the chance to connect with tutors and peers face-to-face. This structure makes it possible to keep making a difference in your workplace while you study.
Over the course of one year, you’ll build on your previous experience and deepen your understanding of the latest issues, practices, and research in teaching and learning. The programme welcomes students from a wide range of backgrounds, including primary and secondary education, lifelong learning, early childhood settings, youth services, and adult learning environments.
You’ll be encouraged to critically reflect on your own practice, analyse key educational systems and policies, and tackle real-world challenges through modules on leadership, contemporary social and political issues, and critical approaches to pedagogy. You’ll also undertake an independent research project, supporting your development as a confident and reflective graduate practitioner.
This degree is ideal for those working as teaching assistants, learning support staff, or in broader roles where teaching and learning are central. You’ll collaborate with students from related courses, broadening your perspective and understanding of the wider educational landscape.
Graduates are well-prepared for a range of rewarding careers, including advanced support roles, team leadership, teacher training, or further study at postgraduate level. If you’re ready to take the next step in your professional journey and make an even greater impact on learners’ lives, this programme will help you achieve your ambitions.
