Biomedicine drives the discoveries that shape modern healthcare. Our BSc (Hons) Biomedicine degree gives you the scientific understanding and practical experience to explore how diseases develop, how the body responds, and how new treatments are created.
You’ll begin by exploring how cells, genes, microbes and whole‑body systems function in health and disease. From your first year, you’ll work in specialist laboratories using industry‑standard equipment, developing practical skills used in clinical, diagnostic and research environments.
As you progress, you’ll tailor your learning through optional modules in areas such as neuroscience, cellular science, genetics, infection and human physiology. You’ll be taught by active researchers working in cancer biology, microbiology, neuroscience and regenerative medicine, ensuring your learning reflects current scientific discovery.
The degree is professionally accredited by the Royal Society of Biology (RSB), recognising the breadth and quality of your scientific training and preparing you for a wide range of careers in biomedicine.
This course is also available with a foundation year.
