If you’re excited by languages, culture and communication, this degree gives you the perfect mix of Spanish studies and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). At Manchester Met, you’ll join a welcoming, multicultural community where you’ll learn alongside students and academics from around the world, helping you use Spanish in real, everyday situations while building strong communication skills.
Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages on the planet, and this course helps you gain the confidence and fluency to use it in global settings. You’ll study Spanish language, society and culture, and learn how people communicate across different communities. Alongside this, TESOL gives you a practical understanding of how English is learned and taught worldwide. You’ll explore language‑learning theories, teaching approaches and the nature of the English language itself, all guided by experienced and passionate expert staff.
A major highlight of the course is the chance to spend a full year abroad in Spain, where you’ll immerse yourself in the language and develop real independence. You’ll also have the opportunity to work towards the internationally recognised Trinity Cert TESOL qualification, giving you a strong head start when beginning a global career and graduation, whether in teaching, translation, consultancy or other language‑focussed roles.
By the time you graduate, you’ll have the language skills, cultural insight and practical experience to stand out in a connected, multilingual world.
