ABB including Biology or Human Biology and another science subject from: Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Geography, Geology, Environmental Science, Psychology, IT and PE. General Studies and Critical Thinking are excluded. For Biology, Chemistry and Physics A Levels, we require a pass in the practical element. Mathematics required at GCSE (minimum grade B or 6).

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

32 points normally including Higher Level Biology at grade 6. Chemistry is preferred at Higher Level but not essential. Mathematics and Chemistry required at Standard Level grade 5 if not offered at Higher Level. If not studying full IB Diploma - Grades 6, 5, 5 at Higher Level including Biology at Grade 6 and completion of a national high school diploma. Chemistry is preferred at Higher Level but not essential. Mathematics and Chemistry required at Standard Level grade 5 if not offered at Higher Level.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Applied Science Extended Diploma preferred. DDD Other subjects considered but must contain 360 GLH of theoretical Biology/Chemistry units. Extended Certificate in Applied Science does not replace A level Biology GCSE Mathematics minimum grade B or 6 required.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)
