This foundation year will give you the knowledge you need to progress to any of our mathematics and statistics BSc degrees.

No mathematics A-Level needed. This foundation year course is for students who don't have an A-Level, or equivalent, in mathematics.

This is a full-time programme. It covers core mathematics and statistics topics, including:

A level

AAB OR ABB if at least one A level from: Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, Geography, History, Physics and Modern/Classical Languages or grade 2 in any STEP paper. GCSE grade B or 6 in Mathematics required. We do not accept General Studies and Critical Thinking as one of the three A level grades. Equivalent grades will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants who have, or are currently studying, A-levels in Maths should apply for one of our Maths degrees without a foundation year.

AAABB (combination of Highers and Advanced Highers) with AB at Advanced Higher level. Mathematics required at National 5, minimum grade B (or grade 2 Standard Grade or Intermediate 2 equivalent) if not offered at Higher Grade. Where a candidate has bypassed the assessment for National 5 qualifications, a minimum of grade C in the Higher is required. Scottish qualifications can be taken in more than one sitting. Applicants who have, or are currently studying, Mathematics at Advanced Higher level should apply for one of our Maths degrees without a foundation year.

34 points or if not studying the full IB Diploma - Grades 6, 6, 5 at Higher Level and completion of a national higher school diploma. GCSE grade B or 6 in Mathematics required. 34 points. GCSE grade B or 6 in Mathematics required. Applicants who have, or are currently studying, Higher Level Mathematics Analysis and Approaches should apply for one of our Maths degrees without a foundation year.

T Level

This course accepts any T levels with a Distinction overall and a minimum grade B in core component. GCSE Mathematics grade B or 6 required.
