Grades BBC One subject from Chemistry, Technology and Design, Design and Technology, Double Award Life and Health Sciences, Double Award Science/Applied Science, Engineering, Electronics or Environmental Technology. Reduced offer: Grades CCC One subject from Mathematics, Further Mathematics or Physics.

HNC (BTEC)

HNC in Electrical, Electronic, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering subject. Overall Distinction (with distinctions in 75 Level 4 credits) for year 1 entry only. GCSE Maths grade C/4.

HND (BTEC)

HND in Electrical, Electronic, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering subject. Overall Merit (with distinctions in 45 Level 5 credits). HND applications may be considered for Year 2 entry where the curriculum sufficiently matches that of the Ulster University full - time Year 1 course. GCSE Maths grade C/4.

Scottish Higher

To include minimum of BB in Mathematics and a science subject. English and Maths required at Standard Grade 1, 2 or 3.

Access to HE Diploma

Overall profile of 63% (120 credit Science/Technology/Engineering Access Course) (NI Access Course); to include a 20 credit Level 2 Mathematics module, passed at 63% or successful completion of NICATS Mathematics as part of the pre-2021 Access Diploma. Overall profile of 15 credits at distinction and 30 credits at merit (60 credit Science/Technology/Engineering Access Course) (GB Access Course). GCSE English & Maths grade C/4.

GCSE/National 4/National 5

GCSE Mathematics Grade C or above (or equivalent). GCSE Grade C (or above) in English Language (or equivalent). GCSE Mathematics Grade B/5 if offering GCE A Level Technology and Design, Design & Technology, Engineering , Electronics, Environmental Technology. NOTE: applicants presenting any of the above and who only have GCSE Maths Grade C, then Double Award Science at BB or above can be taken in conjunction with GCSE to top-up.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

To include 12 at Higher Level and to include minimum grade 5 in Mathematics and another Higher Level science subject. Grade 4 in English Language also required in overall profile.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

BTEC Level 3 RQF National Extended Diploma in a relevant Engineering subject area (not Advanced Manufacturing Engineering) with DMM overall award grades to include a Merit in Engineering Principles and Merit in Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems. OR QCF Pearson BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in a relevant engineering subject area with DDD overall. Also requires at least Merit in a unit of Applied or Further Mathematics and in a unit of Mechanical Technology or Mechanical Principles. . The following qualifications are acceptable in particular combinations and/or with A-Level(s) - NB Subject requirements must be met as outlined above. 112 UCAS Tariff points to include a minimum of five subjects (four of which must be at Higher Level) to include English at H6 if studied at Higher Level or O4 if studied at Ordinary Level. Higher Level subjects must include Mathematics with a minimum H5 and a minimum H6 in one of the following - Physics / Chemistry / Physics/Chemistry / Biology / Technology / Engineering / Technology & Design Design & Communication Graphics. NB APPLICANTS NOT STUDYING HIGHER LEVEL MATHS If an applicant is studying Ordinary Level Maths but has 2 of the other subjects listed at Higher Level we can make an offer for 112 pts with a minimum of a H5 and H6 in the required subjects they are are studying.
