Sports Coaching Certificate of Higher Education - CertHE

Get stuck in from day one, learning through a combination of hands-on coaching and theory. Our 1-year Sports Coaching Cert HE is equivalent to the first year of a degree and is recognised as a Higher Technical Qualification approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.

* Understand the workings of the human body, and how the skeleton, muscles, nervous system and cardiovascular system work together when we move. 


* Explore approaches to coaching children of all ages and learn how to motivate different individuals towards different goals. 


* Look at contemporary issues in sport and get an overview of different workplace settings, including health, education, and sport.

This 1-year course is the perfect stepping stone to a full Sports Coaching degree. If you pass the Cert HE successfully, you will automatically be eligible to progress to the second year of the 3-year degree programme.  

If you choose to leave after the 1-year Cert HE, you’ll walk away with a valuable level 4 qualification which will support your job applications in the sector.
