Our BA (Hons) Sports Management degree will open a world of opportunity. It’s designed to empower you with the knowledge, skills and experience that is highly sought after by employers.
The 3-year degree course will develop your understanding of the contemporary sports industry from a business perspective – including strategic challenges, internal and external forces, the legal, ethical and regulatory constraints and governmental and institutional structures. You will learn how sports organisations operate and cover key functions including marketing, events management, policy and development, leisure management and strategic leadership.
Our programme is designed to prepare you for employment by bridging the gap between lectures and the real world. Working with our key industry partners, including Manchester United, Salford City FC and Lancashire Cricket, you’ll develop the confidence, skills and experience to pursue a rewarding career in the global sports industry.
Your UA92 degree goes far beyond the traditional academic experience.
Each academic year, in addition to your four subject modules, you’ll study an extra credit-bearing module, which focuses entirely on character and personal development. You’ll get to take on a real-life project, based on a live scenario, set by one of our industry partners.
You’ll experience first-hand the current issues facing the industry, get the opportunity to apply your subject knowledge, challenge your perspectives, step outside your comfort zone and build key employability skills to prepare you for your future career.
These experiences are instrumental in developing transferable skills and key competencies such as leadership, resilience and well-being, communication, problem-solving and team-working. To help you track your progress and further refine your developing skill-set, you’ll meet regularly with your own personal development coach throughout years 1 & 2.
Alongside your course modules, you will engage with the 92 Programme, which is built into every degree and tailored to each subject area.
Engaging with the 92 Programme is a requirement for all students and will count towards your overall grade.
Through taught sessions, immersive experiences and coaching, you will build confidence, resilience, wellness, self-reflection and professionalism, skills designed to support your future success.
