The BA (Hons) Game Design (Game Development) programme equips you with the skills, confidence, and industry insight needed to stand out as a professional artist in the games sector.

Throughout your studies, you’ll explore the core principles of C# Programming, how to program within Unreal Blueprints, and Game AI. You’ll develop a strong grounding in Unity, C#, C++, Game AI, and building advanced game systems, gaining hands-on experience in industry-standard tools and workflows used by studios around the world.

As you progress, you’ll build a deep understanding of the games industry, production pipelines, and collaborative development, working in simulated studio environments that mirror real-world professional practice. You’ll also study the theory of play, player experience, and visual storytelling, helping you to design artwork that not only looks great but enhances gameplay and narratives.

Each year of the course is designed to expand your creativity and technical skillset, preparing you to take ownership of your programming pipelines. By your final year, you’ll have the opportunity to specialise in your chosen discipline, whether that’s Gameplay, AI, Systems or UX and create a curated, professional portfolio that showcases who you are.
