Course Overview - Computer Science BSc (Hons)

This course provides a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of computer science and, in later years of study, the opportunity to specialise in a range of advanced topics. We review our curriculum constantly to ensure it remains at the leading edge of digital technology and accommodates the current demands of industry.

Core ideas are introduced in years one and two in order to provide you with a solid foundation upon which to build. You will learn the principles of algorithms and programming, covering three key paradigms: imperative, functional and object-oriented.

(We may ask for Distinctions in particular units or combinations of units to satisfy subject requirements), and achieving the required level in the University of Bristol mathematics test.
