Are you interested in developing the technology of the future? Do you want to play your part in a dynamic and rapidly growing sector? Our Computer Science programme will give you a strong foundation in problem-solving, logical knowledge and critical thinking, helping you design software solutions that solve real-world issues.\
The BSc (Hons) Computer Science degree is an innovative and exciting course that blends the technical focus of computer science with social and environmental awareness. You will explore computer systems, software and programming solutions, cyber security and selected topics in business, management, and leadership.\
Developed in collaboration with BAE Systems, industry touchpoints are embedded within every module, meaning some course content will be delivered by industry professionals or within an industrial setting. Each year of the course you will have the opportunity to work on technical projects designed to build upon your learning. In the third year, you will undertake a Professional Project; a substantial and independent piece of research into a topic of your choice, related to one of your taught modules.\
As well as the chance to gain certifications or badges from software providers, you will have the opportunity to embark upon a 12-week paid placement (subject to security clearance) through the Future Talent Scholarship, along with a bursary of £5,000 to support you with your studies.\
Our Computer Science course will be taught at Lancaster or our brand-new Barrow campus, a purpose-built facility that has been designed with modern equipment and facilities.
