With our Psychology degree you’ll gain the knowledge, skills and experiences to support mental health and wellbeing.<br/><br/>This course provides an excellent grounding in Psychology with a focus upon clinical and mental health issues. Perfect for those who want to become a Clinical Psychologist, or those who wish to work in one of the many wider roles within mental health<br/><br/>Graduates will often work with those facing anxiety, depression, learning difficulties or relationship issues. Our course is delivered in short, focused blocks. Youll learn from outstanding academic staff and experienced clinical professionals from the industry.<br/><br/>Theres an increased public awareness of the importance of clinical psychology and mental health. Opportunities for working within Psychology and the demand for graduates is on the rise.<br/><br/>In both the classroom and work settings, we emphasise practical learning and teach transferable clinical skills. You will be on campus for 3 fixed days a week meaning you can maintain work/life balance.<br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>What you’ll do</strong><br/><br/><br/>• The course covers the core BPS curriculum. This enables you to progress to postgraduate study in any area of psychology. In your final year of study you will concentrate on issues of Clinical and Mental Health.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Assessments emulate activities that you might undertake once in employment. You could design, implement and evaluate a behaviour change programme or create materials designed to promote health and wellbeing.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Take advantage of our flexible course design by studying a module in either Forensic/Criminal Psychology or Neuropsychology.<br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>Future careers</strong><br/><br/>Our Psychology (Clinical and Mental Health) not only offers a vital step in the path toward a career in professional clinical practice or therapy, but can also offer a route into a range of other specialisms across all areas of psychology - not just health and social care settings. You could pursue a career within Clinical Psychology or a in range of related areas such as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP), a CBT therapist or a Mental Health and Children (and Young People) Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP).<br/><br/>While you’re studying with us, we’ll offer a range of opportunities to boost your employability. Whether this is as part of a module or placement year between your second and final years or studying abroad with one of our partner institutions across Europe, the US or Asia, you will be given opportunities to gain vital knowledge, workplace experience and practical skills that will enhance your employment prospects.<br/><br/>We also offer you the chance to participate in one of the largest paid research intern schemes in the UK. This allows you to work on cutting-edge research projects over the summer. As well as developing your knowledge and skills, these can often lead to conference papers, peer-reviewed journal articles and, in some cases, trips to present the work overseas.
