Artificial intelligence is transforming the way we live, work and solve problems. From healthcare and business to digital services and technology, organisations increasingly rely on data and intelligent systems to make better decisions. This degree will help you develop the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to play a part in that future.
Designed for those with an interest in technology, data and problem solving, the course explores how artificial intelligence and data science can be used to tackle real-world challenges. You will learn how to collect, analyse and interpret data, build intelligent systems and develop software solutions that support decision making across a range of industries.
Hands-on experience is central to the course. Working individually and as part of a team, you will design, build and test artificial intelligence applications using industry-standard tools and technologies. You will gain experience of programming, machine learning, data visualisation and cloud computing, using software and platforms widely used across the technology sector. Through practical projects, you will develop the technical and problem-solving skills needed to create innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
A key strength of the course is its focus on industry relevance. As part of our membership of the AWS Academy, cloud computing learning is embedded within the programme, helping you develop skills that are valued by employers. You will also have opportunities to engage with industry professionals through guest lectures and events, gaining insight into how artificial intelligence and data science are applied in professional settings.
Alongside technical development, you will explore the ethical, legal and environmental issues associated with artificial intelligence, helping you understand how to develop and use technology responsibly.
By graduation, you will have built a portfolio of practical work and developed skills in artificial intelligence, data science, programming and cloud technologies. These can support careers in areas such as AI consultancy, software development, data analysis, project management and research.
