You'll work through the complete design process, from research, ideation, sketching and concept development to prototyping, testing and final production. Using industry-standard software and technologies, including CAD, 3D modelling and digital fabrication tools, you'll learn how to bring ideas from concept to reality.

A distinctive feature of the course is its emphasis on learning through making. Working within a collaborative studio environment, you'll have access to specialist facilities including 3D printing, laser cutting and advanced workshop technologies that enable rapid experimentation and innovation.

Throughout your studies, you'll engage with live briefs, competitions and industry-focused projects that help build professional confidence and experience. You'll also explore key themes such as sustainability, artificial intelligence (AI), user-centred design, manufacturing and emerging technologies, ensuring your work responds to contemporary challenges and opportunities.
