Product Design (top-up) Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) - BA (Hons)

This one-year Product Design Top-Up programme enables you to build on your existing knowledge and transform your creative potential into professional-level design practice. Designed for students progressing from a foundation degree, HND or equivalent qualification, the course prepares you to take the next step towards a career in product design.  

You'll develop advanced skills in product development, 3D digital design, prototyping, user experience (UX), app design and emerging technologies, including the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) within design practice. Working within a collaborative studio environment, you'll explore innovative approaches to solving real-world challenges through creative design thinking.  

A central feature of the course is the opportunity to undertake a substantial self-directed major design project. From identifying a problem and researching opportunities through to concept development, prototyping and final presentation, you'll experience every stage of the professional design process.  

Alongside this, you'll develop entrepreneurial awareness through projects exploring branding, marketing, funding, business development and professional pitching. These experiences help prepare you not only for employment but also for innovation, consultancy and self-employment opportunities.  

Supported by industry-standard software, advanced fabrication facilities and opportunities to showcase your work publicly, you'll graduate with a professional portfolio that demonstrates creativity, technical ability and commercial awareness.
