From the outset, you’ll build a strong foundation in chemical and environmental engineering, gaining an understanding of what it means to be a professional engineer. As you progress through your course, you’ll undertake several design projects, followed by extensive project work in your final year. These projects are deeply rooted in real-world applications, with options that align with the department's research strengths in energy, process engineering, water, waste management and biotechnology.
You’ll learn in large, modern, and well-equipped laboratories and design studios, with an emphasis on practical, group-based learning. You’ll develop a thorough understanding of chemical engineering theory, method and practice, as well as transferable skills such as project management, analytical thinking, leadership and teamwork.
This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue professional registration as a Chartered Engineer, following the relevant industrial training and experience.
