Youll learn how to create sustainable, nutritious and safe food. This applied science degree can lead to jobs in research, operations and management. <br/><br/>Youll investigate the sensory, physical and chemical properties of foods. Using our specialist facilities you will apply this knowledge to explore food innovation and develop new products. Youll look at consumer trends, new technology and the latest food research. <br/><br/>Read about our research in Future Food.<br/><br/><strong>Developing new foods</strong><br/>In year three youll apply your knowledge to develop a new food product. Working as teams, youll use the food processing facility to create the finished product. From idea generation through to the final packaged product, youll get a hands-on experience of what it takes to bring a food or drink product to market. There is also the opportunity to enter Ecotrophelia, a European food innovation student competition.
