This degree gives you the best of two worlds. Our BSc (Hons) Business Management with Economics provides a comprehensive education in business and management, alongside a strong grounding in economics. About two-thirds of the course focusses on the core areas of business management, while one-third explores economics, helping you understand not only how organisations operate, but also the wider economic forces that shape business decisions.

You’ll begin in first year building your foundations in business management, through subjects such as finance, marketing, organisational behaviour, applied data analysis, and economics. The second year dives deeper into the subject, including economics in a business context, with a focus on markets, trade, and policy, and how these shape the decisions businesses make. You’ll bring it all together in the final year where you will extend your expertise and undertake an applied project on the interface of business management and economics, enabling you to investigate a contemporary issue directly relevant to business practice and economics, while continuing to develop your knowledge and expertise in strategy and leadership.

This is a hands-on programme with plenty of opportunity to apply your learning. You’ll take part in live case studies, business simulations, consultancy projects, and employer-led activities that develop your practical knowledge, professional skills. Industry speakers, regional and international partnerships, and career development opportunities are built into the course helping you connect theory with practice. Assessment is practical and career orientated, designed to develop your skills in communication, negotiation, problem solving and decision making.

Graduates of the programme will be well prepared for a diverse range of careers. Equipped with both business management expertise and the analytical skills of an economist. You’ll be able to interpret data, apply economic reasoning to complex challenges, and demonstrate the professional skills employers value.
