Developing practical counselling skills will enable you to support children and young people in complex contexts.

You’ll study children’s mental health, inequalities and rapid technological change. You will explore what matters to children and young people, what shapes their lives, and how practitioners can offer effective, ethical support.

This course allows you to explore what matters to children and young people, and what shapes their lives. Our teaching team have expertise in a wide range of areas directly related to children’s mental health, including:

In your counselling studies, you’ll:

* explore theories and psychological frameworks to support mental health and wellbeing

You’ll apply theory to the everyday practice of working with children and young people. You will have placements in years one and two. In year three, a professional development module helps tailor work-related opportunities to your career goals, with the option to study abroad.
