Entry Requirements

A level

A-levels should normally include both Mathematics and Physics, with at least C in Mathematics Applications from A-level students without Mathematics and/or Physics will be considered on a case-by-case basis. In addition, you will need evidence of a broad range of GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above (or grade C). You may be asked to come to an interview and/or a mathematics assessment during an Applicant Visit Day as part of the selection process.

Scottish Higher

Highers should include Mathematics and Physics, with at least C grade in each. You may be asked to come to an interview and/or a mathematics assessment during an Applicant Visit Day as part of the selection process.

Access to HE Diploma

Applicants with a tariff score of at least 112 points and at least 15 Level 3 credits at Distinction. Applicants need to demonstrate a high level of Mathematics. You will need to have GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics with at least grade 5 (or grade B).

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

From the full IB Diploma. Higher Level subjects should normally include both Mathematics and Physics, with at least 4 in each. Applications from students without Higher Mathematics and/or Physics will be considered on a individual basis. You may be asked to come to an interview and/or a mathematics assessment during an Applicant Visit Day as part of the selection process.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

BTEC National Extended Diploma in Engineering with overall grade of MMM including Distinction in Engineering Principles Unit. You will need to have GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics with at least grade 5 (or grade B). You may be asked to come to an interview and/or a mathematics assessment during an Applicant Visit Day as part of the selection process.
