What can you expect?\
BA (Hons) Fashion Contour students learn specialised technical skills and terminology in the design, pattern cutting, materials and construction of lingerie, intimate apparel, Contour Fashion and swimwear. Through the creative process, you will explore and experiment with designing for possible futures, addressing the context of social, racial and environmental injustices. You will also develop professional attributes, the ability to research and critically analyse project briefs, visual communication, and business skills for a successful career in the fashion industry.
* Specialised focus on intimate apparel: Gain expertise in creating lingerie, swimwear, and structured bodywear, blending technical precision with creative design innovation.
* Industry collaborations: Benefit from our connections within the industry and engage in projects with leading contour brands to gain career experience and networking opportunities. Live project partners have included Agent Provocateur, Luna Mae London, Coco de Mer, Beija London, as well as leading high street brands such as H&M, Urban Outfitters and M&S.
* State-of-the-art facilities: Work with industry-standard tools and technology, fostering hands-on craftsmanship blended with innovative digital processes. Develop your skills using cutting-edge equipment and facilities, including 3D body scanning and garment technology labs.
* Graduate career prospects: Choose to take an optional placement year between your second and third year to apply the skills learned on our course in a professional environment. Graduates have gone on to work at brands like Agent Provocateur, Bordelle, and M&S.
* Sustainability and inclusivity: Learn to address key challenges in fashion, including sustainable production and diverse, inclusive design approaches.
Students join the four year version of this course with an optional Diploma/Placement Year and can opt into the three year version whilst at UAL.
