Why Business and Management (Events Management)

The global events industry is expanding rapidly, with organisations, businesses, and governments investing in conferences, exhibitions, and large-scale corporate experiences. Demand continues to grow for skilled professionals in event planning, logistics, marketing, and hospitality across international markets.

In your first year, you will develop core business, leadership, and events management skills alongside at least 3 hours of weekly in-class learning per module, combining lectures with interactive seminars and real-world activities that bring learning to life. These sessions encourage collaboration and application of key concepts, supported by small class sizes, expert lecturers, and a Personal Tutor.

In your second year, you will specialise in events and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions), developing skills in project management, budgeting, marketing, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.

The final year focuses on strategic events delivery and managing large-scale international events, preparing you for roles across global events, marketing, and hospitality industries. You will also engage with guest speakers from organisations such as Jaguar Land Rover, Ecotricity, CIPD, Enterprise Mobility, and St. James’s Place Wealth Management, plus networking events, field trips, and student societies.
