Music and Sound Production Bachelor of Science (with Honours) - BSc (Hons)

The BSc (Hons) Music and Sound Production is an on‑campus programme that equips students with the soft skills, alongside the creative, technical, and entrepreneurial capabilities, required to operate within contemporary music, sound, and creative technology industries. Its distinctiveness lies in the integration of advanced production practice, immersive and interactive audio, and professional preparation within a single, coherent curriculum, supported by state‑of‑the‑art facilities and strong regional industry engagement. Students undertake studio‑based production, live sound work in professional contexts, industry‑led briefs, collaborative projects, and sustained portfolio development, alongside engagement with visiting practitioners.

 

The programme is explicitly future‑focused, responding to growth areas such as immersive audio, game and XR sound, streaming, virtual production, and AI‑assisted workflows, while embedding ethical, legal, and professional standards throughout the curriculum. The programme balances breadth and depth through a structured progression from foundational audio principles to advanced specialisms. Early stages establish core competencies across music production, sound design, acoustics, and digital workflows, while later stages enable students to develop depth of expertise through focused pathways, advanced modules, and a substantial independent major project.
